15th June sees the release of West Midlands band subkicks debut studio album ‘threes, fives and sevens’ through SNS Records. They have been sharing their funk-beat influenced indie for over 2 years having played a host of UK tours and supports with the likes of Boy Kill Boy, Maximo Park and the Shins. Since the demise of their previous band Exist in 2007, the band have been kicking up a bit of a storm in the UK and over in Japan.

When a copy of their single ‘The Fear’ found it’s way to Japan 2007 it became a Top 5 radio hit and sold over 10,000 copies and spurned a cluster of live sell-out shows in Tokyo. From there the band were able to record their debut album ‘threes, fives and sevens’ with producer Gavin Monahan - Twang/Editors/Kings of Leon. He passionately guided the band through 12 new anthemic indie-rock tracks which include the single ‘Fatman’ and the upbeat slice of indie pop ‘Goodbye Caroline’. The rich and smooth track ‘Sirens’ and the driving ‘Searchlights’ were written and recorded in 1 take while in the studio; the band are raring to share their edgy indie rock.

‘threes, fives and sevens’ overflows with all the ingredients you want from a young talented and determined band, classic guitar riffs, stadium rock choruses with a few dance beats thrown in for good measure.
