Jim Lockey & the Solemn - New single and Dropkick Murphys support tour


Jim Lockey & the Solemn Sun start 2013 by announcing details of their new single as well as a phenomenal tour of North America supporting the punk rock behemoths Dropkick Murphys.


On 7th March 2013 the Cheltenham-based four-piece will release their stunning track ‘New Natives’ a euphoric anthem-in-the-making that has become a live favourite with crowds all over the country. ‘New Natives’ is taken from their critically applauded album ‘Death’ released last year through Xtra Mile Recordings.

The single release coincides with the band’s own headline tour of the UK before they go Stateside to join the Dropkick Murphys on their enormous tour of America including the band’s legendary St. Patrick’s Day gig in Boston on 17th March 2013.Full dates are:

2012 was a great year for Jim Lockey &The Solemn Sun. Following a phenomenal summer that saw themplay a storming set at the 2000trees Festival packing out the tent; they received glorious praise from Radio 1’s Zane Lowe for their single ‘England’s Dead’ which was his ‘Next Hype Record’; toured the full length of the UK with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls on their sold out tour and performed live alongside Frank at the Olympics Opening Ceremony to an estimated audience of 25 million people.
