Fast-rising Brighton quartet Fighting Fiction release their eponymous self-titled debut album and new single 'Turning Rebellion into Money' through Xtra Mile Recordings on 27th February 2012.

An infectious punk rock record, ‘Fighting Fiction’ is full of politically charged articulate lyrics, powerful driving rhythms and catchy refrains. Featuring the single ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll is Dead and its Corpse is for Sale’ – which received strong support from fan Radio 1’s Mike Davies – all ten tracks pack a powerful punch, hitting you the head as well as the heart. Recorded and produced by friend and highly credited producer Mark Williams, (Oceansize, Million Dead, Yourcodenameis:milo, Biffy Clyro & Enter Shikari) ‘Fighting Fiction’ perfectly captures the band’s honesty, integrity and knack for writing a great pop punk song.

With a DIY approach, their keen touring ethic has seen them play alongside Frank Turner, This Town Needs Guns, The Riot Before, The Xcerts, Laura Marling and Crazy Arm; as well as festival appearances at The Lock Up Stage at Reading and Leeds Festival, The Isle of Man TT, The Isle of Wight and 2000Trees.

After a slew of singles and an EP FIGHTING FICTION are ready to reveal the first single from their Mark Williams (Biffy Clyro, Bloc Party, Million Dead, Oceansize) produced debut album. New single ‘Rock 'n' Roll is Dead and its Corpse is for Sale’ will be released on 4th July 2011 (Independence Day) through Xtra Mile Recordings (Frank Turner, Crazy Arm, Far…).

The single, which has already seen strong support on Mike Davies Radio 1 Punk Show, sees the Bristolian’s steady evolution reach new heights and proves the perfect stepping stone before the release of their debut album which can be expected in September 2011. ‘Rock 'n' Roll is Dead…’ offers thought provoking lyrics that challenge what musicians stand for in this modern age, selling their souls to large brands that want to try a buy a piece of credibility.

Speaking of the single and forthcoming album frontman Jacob Glew says "This is an album conceived over weekends and late nights in living rooms and start up studios, we've spent every hour we have spare pouring ourselves into these ten songs to make them the best they can possibly be, they're personal and political, recorded by our friend and fantastic producer Mark Williams and played by us to the best of our ability we want every note and word to sound like we meant them, because we did".

Emerging indie-punk four-piece Fighting Fiction release their brand new single ‘We Will Not Forget’ on 3rd May 2010 through Xtra Mile Recordings. A politically aware call to arms, it’s no coincidence that this single release will coincide with the forthcoming general election.

Not intended as a two-fingered salute to the establishment in the traditional sense of some punk music, rather as a way to incite some pride and anger into a generation coming of voting age. The stress is on the power of the vote in this song, it’s not a call to Anarchy; rather a call of responsibility. To put your politics into action, whatever they might be.

Fighting Fiction formed late 2007 in Bristol when the four lads met at University. Bourne of a mutual passion for energetic live performance, their sound is a powerful collision of Indie-rock guitar riffs, reggae tinged punk and socially aware lyrics. These are songs written with anger and sung with passion. They evoke an honest and fundamentally English sound that is reminiscent of the brooding reggae guitar hooks of 'London Calling' era Clash, the lyrical wordplay and vocal delivery of Billy Bragg, and more recently, the acoustic guitar based sing-along sensibilities of Frank Turner and the King Blues.

Produced by Mark Williams (Biffy Clyro, Bloc Party, Million Dead, Oceansize), ‘We Will Not Forget’ is the bands most aggressive offering to date and will include a free acoustic download ‘Turning Rebellion Into Money.’

To date, the band have released their debut EP ‘A Lesser Of Two Evils’ (November 2009); completed two UK-wide tours, securing slots at both the Isle of Wight and Isle of Man TT festivals, and have played support to the likes of This Town Needs Guns, Crazy Arm, Sam Isaac, Floors and Walls, Laura Marling and The Automatic.

Fighting Fiction hit the road again this April/May on a 20 date UK tour in support of their new single release.
